Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center (AWCC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
Our mission is to:
•provide refuge for orphaned, injured and ill animals.
•take care of animals that cannot survive in the wild.
•educate visitors about Alaska's wildlife.
We provide an opportunity for Alaska residents and visitors to view wildlife in a scenic setting. We strive to establish a natural habitat for each species.

INTERNSHIP:
We are currently seeking applicants for a summer internship position that will
assist us in our education efforts. Applicants should be able to adapt to an
ever-changing work environment, be self-motivated, posses excellent skills in
communication and be available to work weekends and holidays. Internship application below (PDF).
Internship program detail:
Stipend: $800.00/month
Housing: On-site housing provided
Work Schedule: Interns will be expected to work 8-10 hours a day, 40 hours a week.
Academic Credit: Interns may coordinate with their academic advisor and AWCC to arrange college credit.
Internship start date: The beginning of each 12 week internship will be based upon the intern’s academic schedule and generally start in May/early June.
Duties Include:
• Interpreting exhibits housing live animals.
• Presenting daily demonstrations, talk and/or tours to the public.
• Developing original interpretive programs and creating interpretive materials.
• Designing, preparing and conducting wildlife education programs for school groups.
• Interacting with animal husbandry personnel.
• Planting and upkeep of the Center’s “Alaska Grown Garden”
• Assisting with general maintenance of the Center and it’s facilities.
• Perform other duties relating to the Center’s goals and mission statement as required.
